![]() People on here will suggest you get a Made in Korea second hand, but I think the Chinese ones are quite nice too. Even when you are using heavier strings it is still not the model for the Epiphone Casino. The Bigsby B-3 will not work just well on the Epiphone Casino especially if you are using light strings. ![]() They fall under these three Bigsby models. The pickups could probably be a bit better in terms of quality, but presumably you could change that later (although changing pickups on hollows and semis is a bit of a pain). The Epiphone Casino is a thin-line hollow-body electric guitar. but you have to factor in the hollow body, which brings a different bass sound to the overall sound. I really like P90 pickups and that is the beauty of the Casino - they respond better to playing dynamics, are a bit more biting and chimey. ![]() I found the tonality of a the Casino to be quite distinctive, whereas the semi is quite a bit less distinctive when compared to a solid body - yes you can tell it is 335 type guitar, but if you closed your eyes, it could also be a Les Paul, but a bit lighter and brighter somehow (to my ears), or woody, or something. therefore probably a bit more useful if you were doing hard rock (which I presume you are not). I do own a Sheraton (v similar to Dot), and I think the main differences would be this:ĭot - gets closer, obviously, to a Les Paul sound, being semi-hollow and having dual humbuckers. I don't own one, but have played a few and they are quite nice and perfectly capable of all of those styles, although you have to bear in mind that they will feed back more easily than a semi-hollow as they are fully hollow.
